Children's Ministry

Shadow Mountaineers is a safe environment where our children can grow and learn to be warriors for the Lord. We offer four different age appropriate classes geared for children between the ages of 2 years old and fifth grade. We want to provide our children with the understanding of the gospel, which is the foundation for building the Kingdom of God. Our ultimate goal is for kids to know about God's love, experience it, and then share it with others in their homes, schools and community.

We meet each Sunday morning at 10:40 am for our own worship service and Bible lesson while the adults meet for their service!

Our Name
Shadow Mountaineers represents our mission to climb upward in our understanding of the good news of Jesus Christ. This mission is accomplished through Bible teaching, verse memorization and musical worship. To help facilitate this mission we proudly use The Gospel Project®. The Gospel Project® for Kids immerses kids and preschoolers in the gospel through every story, theological concept, and call to mission from Genesis to Revelation. Ultimately, the gospel message changes everything; heart transformation can only take place when a child experiences the gospel. Kids and preschoolers will understand the Bible is not just a collection of stories, but one unified story—God’s story of redemption. For detailed information about the curriculum please visit The Gospel Project® for kids website: https://www.gospelproject.com/kids/

Volunteers
Shadow Mountaineers is operated by many amazing volunteers. All our volunteers go through a screening process, criminal background check and training. We would love to talk with you about joining our team. If you are interested and would like more information about volunteering in Shadow Mountaineers, please email Danielle Montoya/ Danielle Parks at childrensdirector@smchurch.net

First-time Guests
Children are checked-in using the tablet in the hallway (across from the restrooms.) Please see Danielle Montoya or Danielle Parks to help you with the check in process. Your child(ren) will receive a printed name tag, and you (the guardian) will receive  "guardian receipt." For security reasons, your guardian receipt is required at time of check out. After check-in, your child(ren) will enter the worship room (next to check-in.) All children will sing God's praises together before breaking into their age appropriate groups. Worship begins at 10:40 am. After worship concludes (10:55 am)  the teachers will take the students into the appropriate age level climbing site (classroom) for lessons and activities. You are welcome to follow your child to his/her climbing site so you are aware of their location. At the end of service (11:40 am) the guardian must go back into the worship room to check out their child. A volunteer will be there to assist you with check-out. You may go back into your child's classroom to pick them up, or we can bring your child(ren) to you. It is important to inform the registration table volunteers of any allergies or health concerns. We look forward to meeting you and your children, and we hope God may be leading you to make Shadow Mountain Church your church home. You can enroll your child into Shadow Mountaineers by filling out the form located at the registration table.
